Things to Consider : Cellular Shades

  • Cellular Shades are a compact solution for most openings.  When installed in a window there will be a very small stack at the top of the shade when open.
  • Cellular Vertical Sliders (Vertiglide by Hunter Douglas) are a great, low profile option for Sliding Glass Doors.  The stack back on  this treatment typically runs less than 8 inches; far less than any other treatment for Sliding Glass Doors.
  • Light gaps on Cellular Shades are typically very tight but can vary depending on the manufacturer and the control system used.
  • Heat control is a primary benefit of selecting Cellular Shades.  The pocket of air that is trapped within the cells acts as an insulator.  Cellular Shades can significantly reduce the energy consumption in a home and provide a more comfortable environment.
